Ceramic, mixed glazes | Year 2025
This sculpture is a deeply personal reflection on emotional repression and the journey toward self-awareness. Created during a period of introspection, the piece explores the complexities of human emotion and the subtle forces that shape behavior in contemporary life.
The figure’s puffy hands and face are intentional distortions—symbols of long-ignored feelings finally surfacing. After years of emotional suppression masked by constant busyness, the artist embraces vulnerability through form. The right hand, in particular, holds a special resonance. The artist describes an almost ritual connection, returning to it again and again—as if in doing so, a quiet emotional harmony is restored.
The surface bears experimental glaze combinations, applied with raw honesty to mirror the internal landscape of the piece. Nothing is accidental; each decision—from texture to tone—serves the sculpture’s emotional narrative.
This work marks a creative turning point: a shift from hiding to revealing, from avoiding to embracing.
